About us

Since 1973, our company has been shaped by experience, dedication, and continuous development. Discover the key milestones of our journey – from our first customs clearances to today's German-Interzoll GmbH.

Our milestones

1973

It all began in October 1973

Our managing director, Wolfgang Bauditz, handled his first customs clearances at the Nuremberg Customs Office. As a freight forwarding specialist, he gained experience in all areas of customs clearance. As early as 1979, he was already working with simplified customs clearance, which at that time was still known as a “collective customs declaration.”

1985

Special Stamp from the Customs Administration

As early as 1985, the freight forwarding company (the fifth company in Germany to do so), at the initiative of Wolfgang Bauditz, head of the customs department, received special authorization from the Ministry of Finance allowing it to prepare shipping declarations using a special stamp directly at its business premises, independently of the customs office.

1989

Self-Employment and Starting a Business

After completing various continuing education courses at the Nuremberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), I took the leap into self-employment in March 1989. In December 2000, the Bauditz Customs Clearance and Consulting Office (sole proprietorship) became WoBa GmbH Foreign Trade & Customs Services. In August 2007, WoBa GmbH was converted into German – Interzoll GmbH through a merger.

1992

Office in Chemnitz

In 1992, a branch office was opened in Chemnitz, which remained in operation until 1996.

2000

Office in Ansbach

Another branch was opened in 2000 in Ansbach, Bavaria, right next to the highway toll plaza.

2004

Customs Clearance via the ATLAS System

With the EU’s eastward expansion in April 2004, our branch in Ansbach was closed after four successful years. Over the course of 2004, we transitioned our customs clearance operations to the ATLAS system. We subsequently focused on the customs clearance of goods worldwide.

2005

2005 Swiss-Interzoll – Arbon, Switzerland – through 2010

In 2005, a long-standing client asked us if we could take over all of his customs clearance operations in Switzerland. Shortly thereafter—once we had received the necessary customs authorizations from both the German and Swiss customs authorities—Swiss-Interzoll was founded in December 2005 in Arbon, in the canton of Thurgau. In 2009, the German customs authorities revoked all of our customs authorizations, not least due to disputes between the German Ministry of Finance and the Swiss Federal Administration of Finance regarding various foundations in Liechtenstein. We processed the remaining orders and closed our office in early 2010.

2016

Brexit Referendum

On June 23, 2016, the United Kingdom voted on whether to remain in the EU. The referendum resulted in the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the EU. To prepare for the challenges ahead, we moved into our new office space in Oberasbach, at 8 Zwickauer Str., in April 2018.
Since the process of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU dragged on and remained uncertain until the very end, we decided to move again in October 2020. Our current office is located at Moosstraße 1, 90522 Oberasbach.

2025

Move to the Südwestpark Business Campus

In January 2025, we took a new step into a new era by intensively preparing for the upcoming challenges of e-invoicing.
To keep pace with the latest technologies in the future and offer our customers even better service, we have moved to the Südwestpark Business Campus.
This location meets the requirements of modern high-tech infrastructure and allows us to better position ourselves for future developments. Thanks to the improved location, our customers can now reach us more quickly and easily.
Effective immediately, you can find us at the following address: Südwestpark 60, 90449 Nuremberg.

2026

Expansion of Our Range of Services

“New Paths for Industry”

In response to the growing challenges facing the manufacturing industry, we expanded our range of services in 2026.
In addition to traditional customs clearance, we support and assist companies and business partners in the strategic relocation of production processes to third countries.
In doing so, we help establish appropriate customs, transportation, and logistics procedures and apply our experience in international customs clearance to the design of these processes.
In this way, German lnterzoll is evolving from a traditional customs service provider into a practical partner for cross-border production and logistics processes.
